There is a clear difference between my workflow on the laptop and desktop. On the one hand I use a tiling window manager and mostly terminal programs while on the latter I am not limited by computing power so I use KDE Plasma. A big diference is in the type of work im doing, while on my laptop I do many text based things like work on this website, write texts, go to school, then on the desktop I do computer heave creative work.
I have collected a few older thinkpads over the years. The list contains T410, T500, T60, T42, X301, E252. I’ve found them all for very reasonable prices ranging from 7fr to 54fr.
